Zeus

Zeus is the supreme deity in ancient Greek religion and mythology, often referred to as the 'Father of Gods and men.' He ruled as king of the gods of Mount Olympus. His name is believed to derive from the Proto-Indo-European root '*Dyēus,' which means 'sky' or 'daylight god.' This root is also the source of names for sky gods in other Indo-European mythologies, such as the Roman Jupiter (from *Dyēu-pater, 'sky-father') and the Vedic Dyaus Pita.

Historically, the name Zeus has been almost exclusively associated with the mythological figure. As such, it has rarely been used as a personal given name in Western cultures due to its sacred and singular association. However, in modern times, particularly in some niche contexts or among those with a strong interest in classical mythology, it might occasionally appear, though it remains extremely rare.
