Yakubu

Yakubu is the Hausa form of the Hebrew name Jacob. The name Jacob itself has ancient roots, appearing prominently in the Old Testament of the Bible. Jacob was one of the patriarchs of the Israelites, the son of Isaac and Rebekah, and the father of the twelve tribes of Israel. The name's meaning, 'supplanter' or 'holder of the heel,' refers to the biblical narrative where Jacob was born grasping his twin brother Esau's heel and later supplanted him for his birthright.
