Xurxo

Xurxo is the Galician form of the name George. The name George itself derives from the Greek name Georgios (Γεώργιος), which comes from the word 'georgos' (γεωργός), meaning 'farmer' or 'earth-worker'. Saint George, a soldier in the Roman army who became a Christian martyr, is one of the most venerated saints in Christianity and is the patron saint of many countries, including England, Georgia, and Catalonia.
