Tui

The name Tui has dual origins and meanings. In Fijian culture, 'Tui' is an honorific title given to a king or paramount chief, signifying leadership and high status. This usage is deeply embedded in the traditional social structures of Fiji and other Polynesian islands. The title often precedes the name of the chief's domain, such as 'Tui Viti' (King of Fiji).

Separately, 'Tui' is also the name of a native New Zealand bird (Prosthemadera novaeseelandiae), known for its distinctive iridescent plumage and melodic song. This bird is significant in Māori culture and is often associated with beauty and nature.
