Surat

Separately, Surat is also the name of a major city in the Indian state of Gujarat. The city's name is believed to be derived from the Sanskrit word 'Surat' (सुरत), meaning 'good country' or 'pleasant land'. This Indian origin gives the name a geographical and cultural association with a historically significant port city known for its diamond and textile industries. While the Arabic and Sanskrit roots are distinct, the name's usage can sometimes overlap due to cultural exchange.
