Spes

Spes is a Latin word meaning 'hope' and was personified as a goddess in Roman mythology. She was one of the oldest Roman deities, often depicted carrying a cornucopia or a flower bud. Her worship was particularly prominent during times of crisis, as she represented the hope for a better future. Temples dedicated to Spes were found throughout ancient Rome, including one on the Forum Holitorium and another on the Quirinal Hill.

While primarily known as a goddess, 'Spes' also saw occasional use as a personal name in ancient Rome, though it was not as common as other Latin names.
