Sindija / Cynthia / Kynthia

Sindija is a Latvian variant of the name Cynthia. Cynthia itself is derived from the Greek name Kynthia, which means 'from Kynthos'. Kynthos was a mountain on the island of Delos, the mythical birthplace of the Greek goddess Artemis (and her twin brother Apollo). Thus, Cynthia, and by extension Sindija, carries associations with the goddess of the hunt, wilderness, and the moon. The name became popular in English-speaking countries during the Renaissance, often used in poetry to refer to the moon or Artemis.
