Scholastica is a Latin name derived from the Late Latin word 'scholasticus', meaning 'of a school' or 'scholarly'. It gained prominence through Saint Scholastica, the twin sister of Saint Benedict of Nursia, who lived in the 5th and 6th centuries. She is considered the patron saint of nuns, education, and convulsive children. Her feast day is February 10th.
