Saraswati

Saraswati is a prominent deity in Hinduism, revered as the goddess of knowledge, music, arts, wisdom, and learning. She is one of the Tridevi, along with Lakshmi and Parvati. The name 'Saraswati' literally means 'she who has lakes' or 'she who flows,' referring to a Vedic river goddess. Over time, her association shifted from a physical river to the abstract concept of knowledge and eloquence, embodying the flow of wisdom and creativity.

Her iconography typically depicts her as a beautiful woman dressed in white, riding a swan or peacock, holding a veena (a musical instrument), a book (representing knowledge), a rosary (representing meditation), and a water pot (representing purifying power). She is worshipped by students, artists, and scholars, particularly during the festival of Vasant Panchami, which marks her birthday.
