Salomeea is a Romanian variant of the biblical name Salome. The name Salome itself is derived from the Hebrew word 'shalom', meaning 'peace'. In the New Testament, Salome is mentioned as a follower of Jesus and one of the women who witnessed his crucifixion and visited his tomb. She is also famously, and controversially, associated with the daughter of Herodias, who danced for Herod Antipas and requested the head of John the Baptist.

The name has been used in various forms across different cultures due to its biblical connections. In Eastern European countries, particularly Romania, the 'ea' ending is a common diminutive or feminizing suffix, giving rise to Salomeea.
