Sadko

Sadko is a legendary hero from Russian epic poetry, known as bylinas. He is a wealthy merchant and gusli (a type of zither) player from Novgorod. The most famous bylina tells of his adventures, including his encounter with the Sea King, whom he entertains with his music. This tale often involves themes of fate, wealth, and the power of music.

The name's etymology is debated. Some theories link it to the Old East Slavic word 'sad' (сад), meaning 'garden,' possibly implying 'little garden' or 'gardener.'
