Sadaw

The name Sadaw, or more commonly spelled 'Sayyid' or 'Sidi' in its root form, is derived from the Arabic word 'sayyid' (سيد). This term historically denotes a lord, master, or chief, and is a title of respect. It has been widely used throughout Islamic history to refer to descendants of the Islamic prophet Muhammad through his grandsons, Hasan and Husayn, who were the sons of his daughter Fatimah and his son-in-law Ali ibn Abi Talib.
