Rodoula

Rodoula is a Greek diminutive name, primarily derived from the ancient Greek name Rhoda. Rhoda itself has two main proposed etymologies: either from the Greek word 'rhodon' (ῥόδον), meaning 'rose', or from the island of Rhodes (Rhodos, Ῥόδος). The island of Rhodes is also believed to have been named after the rose flower, or perhaps after the nymph Rhode, who was associated with the island and roses in Greek mythology. The diminutive suffix '-oula' is common in Greek for creating affectionate or smaller versions of names.

The name Rhoda has biblical connections, appearing in the New Testament as a servant girl in the Acts of the Apostles. Rodoula, as a diminutive, carries a similar gentle and floral connotation, often used as a term of endearment. It remains a distinctly Greek name, less common in other cultures.
