Palla / Pallas

The name Palla is derived from the Ancient Greek word 'pallax' (πάλλαξ), meaning 'maiden' or 'young girl'. It is most famously associated with Pallas Athena, one of the most important goddesses in Greek mythology. While 'Pallas' is often used as an epithet for Athena, it also appears as a standalone name in some contexts. The epithet 'Pallas' for Athena is thought to refer to her youth, or possibly to a giant or nymph she slew.
