Oxane

The name Oxane is a variant of Xenia, which itself is derived from the Greek word 'xenia' (ξενία), meaning 'hospitality' or 'guest-friendship'. In a religious context, particularly within Eastern Orthodox Christianity, Xenia is associated with Saint Xenia of Rome (also known as Saint Eusebia), a 5th-century saint who dedicated her life to God and helping the poor. The name's meaning can also be interpreted as 'praise to God' through its association with devoutness and holiness.

Over time, Xenia evolved into various forms across different cultures. Oxane is a less common, perhaps more localized or phonetic, adaptation of Xenia, particularly found in some Slavic-speaking regions.
