Októvíus

Októvíus is the Icelandic form of Octavius, an ancient Roman praenomen (given name) and later a cognomen (family name). The name is derived from the Latin word 'octavus', meaning 'eighth'. It was traditionally given to the eighth child in a family, or sometimes to a child born in the eighth month. The most famous bearer of this name was Gaius Octavius, who later became the first Roman Emperor, Augustus.
