Layia

The name Layia is a variant of Layla, which is derived from the Arabic word 'layl' (لَيْل) meaning 'night'. It has a long history in Arabic and Islamic cultures, often associated with beauty and romance due to its presence in classical Arabic poetry and literature. The most famous association is with the 7th-century love story of Layla and Majnun, a tale of undying love that has been retold countless times across the Middle East and beyond, similar to Romeo and Juliet.
