Kucya (also spelled Kucha) refers to an ancient Buddhist kingdom located on the Silk Road in what is now Xinjiang, China. The kingdom was a major cultural and religious center, known for its music, dance, and Buddhist scholarship. The name itself is believed to be derived from Sanskrit, reflecting the strong Indian cultural influence in the region during antiquity. While not a common personal name in modern usage, it historically denotes a connection to this significant Central Asian civilization.

The kingdom flourished from the 1st millennium BCE to the 7th century CE, playing a crucial role in the transmission of Buddhism from India to China. The people of Kucya spoke an Indo-European language known as Tocharian, distinct from Chinese languages.
