Kintaro is a legendary Japanese folk hero, often depicted as a child of superhuman strength who was raised by a Yama-uba (mountain witch) on Mount Ashigara. His stories are popular in Japanese folklore and art, symbolizing strength, courage, and filial piety. The name itself, Kintaro (金太郎), directly translates to 'golden boy' or 'golden son,' reflecting his extraordinary nature and often depicted golden-red skin.
