Kahsay

Kahsay is a name of Ge'ez origin, an ancient South Semitic language of Ethiopia and Eritrea. It is predominantly used in the Tigrinya-speaking regions of Eritrea and Ethiopia, particularly among the Tigrayan and Tigrinya ethnic groups. The name reflects a common practice in many cultures of bestowing names that convey positive attributes or wishes for the child.

The use of Kahsay has deep roots in the cultural and linguistic heritage of the Horn of Africa.
