Jahnavi

Jahnavi is a name deeply rooted in Hindu mythology and ancient Indian texts. It refers to the sacred river Ganges, one of the most revered rivers in India. According to legend, the sage Jahnu, while performing a sacrifice, accidentally swallowed the Ganges river when it flooded his hermitage. Upon the pleas of Bhagiratha and other gods, he released the river through his ear, thus making the Ganges his daughter, and earning her the name Jahnavi.
