Ikaros

Ikaros is a name of ancient Greek origin, most famously associated with the mythological figure Icarus. In Greek mythology, Icarus was the son of the master craftsman Daedalus. Together, they attempted to escape from Crete using wings made of feathers and wax. Despite his father's warnings, Icarus flew too close to the sun, causing the wax to melt and him to fall into the sea and drown.

The name's etymology is debated, but it is often linked to the Greek word 'hekein' (ἥκειν) meaning 'to come, to arrive', or 'eikon' (εἰκών) meaning 'image, likeness'. However, the most widely accepted interpretation connects it to 'hikō' (ἱκῶ) or 'hikanein' (ἱκανεῖν), meaning 'to follow' or 'to reach'. The tragic tale of Icarus has made the name a symbol of ambition, hubris, and the dangers of overreaching.
