Evlyn

Evlyn is a name with a somewhat complex etymological history. It is often considered a variant of Evelyn, which itself has two main proposed origins. One theory suggests it derives from the Norman French name Aveline, a diminutive of Ava, which may be of Germanic origin meaning 'desired' or 'water, island'.
