Enso

Enso (円相) is a sacred symbol in Zen Buddhism meaning circle, or more broadly, the circle of togetherness. It is drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. The Enso symbolizes absolute enlightenment, strength, elegance, the universe, and mu (the void). It is often used as a form of meditation and is a popular subject in Japanese calligraphy. The symbol itself has a deep philosophical meaning, representing the cyclical nature of existence, the interconnectedness of all things, and the perfection that can be found in imperfection.
