Egiste

The name Egiste is a rare variant of Aegisthus, a figure from Greek mythology. Aegisthus was the son of Thyestes and his daughter Pelopia, and thus the half-brother of Agamemnon. He is most famously known for his affair with Clytemnestra, Agamemnon's wife, and their subsequent murder of Agamemnon upon his return from the Trojan War. The name itself derives from the Greek word 'aigis' (αἰγίς), meaning 'goat-skin' or 'shield', often associated with the shield of Zeus or Athena.
