Egbertina

Egbertina is a rare feminine diminutive of the Germanic name Egbert. The name Egbert itself is derived from the Old High German elements 'ecg' meaning 'edge' (often referring to a sword's edge) and 'beraht' meaning 'bright' or 'shining'. While Egbert has a long history, particularly among Anglo-Saxon royalty, the diminutive form Egbertina is much less common and appears to be a later, more elaborate feminization.
