Daphina / Daphne

Daphina is a less common variant of Daphne, a name with deep roots in Greek mythology. Daphne was a naiad (a type of nymph) who was transformed into a laurel tree to escape the god Apollo's unwanted advances. The laurel tree became sacred to Apollo, and its leaves were used to crown victors in ancient Greek games and poets.
