Dadzboga

Dadzboga is a rare and ancient Slavic name, derived from the Proto-Slavic elements *dadъ 'give' and *bogъ 'god, wealth, fortune'. It is the feminine form of Dažbog (also Dazhbog), a major solar deity in Slavic mythology, often depicted as a god of the sun, fertility, and harvest, and sometimes as the giver of all good things. The name itself embodies the concept of divine beneficence and prosperity.

While the male form Dažbog is well-documented in historical texts and folklore as a deity, the feminine form Dadzboga is much less common as a personal name. Its usage would have been primarily in pre-Christian Slavic societies, likely as a name invoking blessings of prosperity and divine favor upon the child. With the Christianization of Slavic lands, names associated with pagan deities largely fell out of use, making Dadzboga a name with deep historical roots but very limited modern currency.
