Clytie

Clytie is a name with roots in Greek mythology. In the myth, Clytie was an Oceanid, a sea nymph, who was in love with the sun god Helios. When Helios fell in love with another, Clytie pined away, gazing at him as he moved across the sky, eventually transforming into a heliotrope (sunflower), which always turns its face towards the sun. This tragic yet beautiful story has given the name a poetic and somewhat melancholic association.
