Cesidio

Cesidio is a rare Italian given name of ancient Roman origin. It derives from the Roman gens (clan) name Caesidius. The gens Caesidia was a minor plebeian family in ancient Rome. The name's survival into modern times is largely due to Saint Cesidius, a 6th-century martyr from the Abruzzo region of Italy, who is venerated as a patron saint in several towns there.

The name has remained almost exclusively within Italy, particularly in the central regions, where the cult of Saint Cesidius is strongest. It is not widely known or used outside of these specific areas, contributing to its rarity and strong regional association.
