Cassiopeia

Cassiopeia is a name deeply rooted in Greek mythology. She was the queen of Aethiopia and wife of King Cepheus, and mother of Andromeda. Her vanity led her to boast that she and her daughter were more beautiful than the Nereids (sea nymphs), which angered Poseidon, the god of the sea. As punishment, Poseidon sent the sea monster Cetus to ravage the Ethiopian coast. To appease the god, Andromeda was chained to a rock as a sacrifice.

The myth of Cassiopeia, Cepheus, and Andromeda is one of the most enduring tales in Greek mythology, often associated with the constellations. Cassiopeia was placed among the stars, forming a distinctive 'W' or 'M' shape, depending on the season.
