The most famous bearer of this name is Bivoj, a legendary Czech hero from the 8th century. According to the chronicler Cosmas of Prague, Bivoj was a mighty hunter and warrior who single-handedly captured a monstrous boar that was terrorizing the land. He carried the live boar on his back to the castle of Princess Kazi, earning her admiration and eventually marrying her sister, Libuše, or in some versions, another noblewoman. This legend cemented the name's association with heroic deeds and physical strength.
